Jan Garber and his famous dance band and soloists arrived in San Franciso for a special engagement at the St. Francis. The "Idol of the Airlanes" will entertain at the Great Republican Rally September 18, 1936 when Colonel Frank Knox, candidate for Vice-President on the Republican ticket, will speak. Betty Thomas, director of the San Francisco Chapter of Young Republicans, and Hal Williams, executive secretary of the organization, make Garber a Young Republican, despite his age.
